About Us

We are a non-profit worldwide organization with no commercial interests. We promote a broad knowledge of both wine and food and seek to enhance the appreciation of gustatory experiences and nurture the friendships of International Wine and Food Society (IWFS) Napa Valley members with whom we share the mutual pleasures of food and wine.

Our parent organization was founded in London, England, in 1933, by distinguished French gastronome and writer, Andre L. Simon. Multiple chapters were established in the United States beginning in 1934. IWFS is governed by a Council of Management aided by three Area Committees, Europe/Africa, the Americas and Asia/Pacific. There are now almost 200 branches in different countries around the world with over 12,000 members.

Each month, throughout the year, the Napa Valley Branch organizes exclusive events at local wineries and restaurants. We actively promote the enjoyment and consumption of primarily Napa Valley wines and our membership includes several vintners and growers. Reviews of our wine tastings, food pairings, seminars, wineries and restaurant events are published in the quarterly IWFS newsletter that goes to members worldwide. The Napa Valley chapter has become an invaluable resource for visiting national and international IWFS members who seek advice in choosing restaurants, wine tours, tastings or accommodations in our world-class wine growing region.

Our goals include providing interesting and unique wine experiences to further educate our members and making the Napa Valley a destination of all IWFS members who visit the Americas California wine region.
